Dear Dr. Betty,

I have not been able to have an orgasm since I had my hysterectomy. I thought at first it was because I was in a bad marriage, we didn't have sex at all the last five years we were together. However, I have been involved with a wonderful man for the past year, he is very loving and attentive, and has no problem exciting me! But I still cannot seem to have an orgasm, only a couple of times. It feels good, but never quite gets there. Even self stimulation falls short. Is there anything I can do?

Dear D,

My first thought was to introduce a good vibrator into your masturbation and also when you have sex with your partner. Also I find focusing my mind with a hot fantasy instead of wondering if I'm going to come helps a lot. This whole business of making our orgasms the end all be all of sex can often backfire. So many women I've seen lately are driving themselves half crazy over their lack of orgasm.

At that point I recommend smoking pot to get them our of their minds and into their bodies. Marijuana is a true aphrodisiac as it slows down our brain waves. As we leave the mental chatter behind, lo and behold we begin to feel sensations throughout our entire body. I want to start lobbying for the use of cannabis in treating all kinds of sexual problems. Since I recently published my sexual memoir, I was reminded once again that the magic herb actually fueled America's Sexual Pleasure Revolution!
