Orgasm & Pleasure

First Time Orgasm

FIRST TIME ORGASM: Most young woman will begin by using their hands. A woman who has a history of little or no masturbation and has reached her mid to late-20s and is looking for her first orgasm, a battery driven vibrator is a good choice. There are many of these vibrators available. However, it you are already in love with your Magic Wand or another electric vibrator it's not a problem. Pleasure rules!

The Many Sides of My Orgasm

Don’t we all love orgasms? I know I do. And so do these two beautiful women – Carlin Ross and Betty Dodson. What's so interesting is that the orgasms they describe are unlike those I experience. For good reasons, I'm sure. First, I'm rarely active after I have an orgasm. I suppose I'm like a man in this way; my body turns into ice cream in the sun. For example, rattled with stressful thoughts and anxious questions about my professional future, I was unable to go to sleep last night. Even my darling cats submersed in blissful slumber couldn't influence me to relax. What I had forgotten is that I recharged my batteries just that morning. I retrieved my batteries, stuffed them into my vibrator, and got to work!

Did I Orgasm?

Yes, women ask this question on the site and in Betty's private practice. All orgasms are different. Learn how to know if you had one.

my partner vs. my vibrator

So heres what happened. I was about to have sex with my friend. Probably not the best idea considering he was drunk but, I couldn't help myself. I was getting a notebook from my bag when I hear the  door slam and suddenly he is behind me kissing my neck and picks me up and puts me on the bed. So things are getting hot and we are about to have sex and I confess that I've been doing my research and I need more clit stimulation so I can have orgasms on a regular basis.  He agrees with this and then I tell him I brought along my vibrator to that I wanted to try that out. He has a mini freak out, gets really sad, and says it makes him feel like he isn't good enough for me sexually. I try to explain but he has moved on.

Keep stopping right before Orgasm

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year now. He's only the second person I've been with sexually and we've been having problems getting me to have an orgasm. It feels great and everything but right before I
get to an orgasm I tense up and push him away. We kept trying but I would always stop him right before. He bought me a vibrator
thinking it might help but I do the same thing. Right before I get to
an orgasm I pull the vibrator away. After doing some research I found out some women were afraid to climax in front of their guys so I started to use the vibrator in private but I still can't do it.

I'm 22 and never had an orgasm before. I'm not sure why I pull away.
I'm not sure if I'm scared to have one or if it's just to much and I

How to Orgasm

We're shooting our manual series today...how to play with your vulva and give yourself an orgasm. Here's the PG version:

How Can I Have an Orgasm During Sex (from his penis)?

Dear Betty

I'm 18 and am very open sexually. I can talk to my boyfriend about anything sexual and anything I want he'll do, so I know this isn't a matter of me being inhibited or him unenthusiastic. I can easily make myself cum through clit stimulation but I absolutely can not cum through intercourse alone, under any circumstances (trust me I've tried!) I can have great sex for 2 hours, and nothing.

The Woman Who Could Think Herself Off

This month's Playboy magazine has a 5 page article on "Traci" - The Woman Who Could Think Herself Off.  Becky Chalker brought it up last night over dinner and, knowing I had the latest issue, I couldn't wait to finish the Times and get into my Playboy.  Suffice it to say Betty wasn't amused by women feeling even more pressure to orgasm - this time without even touching their bodies.  I tried to keep an open mind.

"Traci" is a 30 something career woman who discovered her talent while her marriage was falling apart.  One night chatting online she revealed that she was so horny that she could orgasm if someone even touched her arm - surprise surprise - her male friend rose to the occasion and cybersexed her to orgasm.  She claims that she couldn't touch herself because she was still married *sigh* and that she got off chatting about her fantasies.

Can I Orgasm?

Hey Betty,

Well I'm 19 have had sex a couple of times and can't orgasm. I have been masturbating ever since I was a little girl but haven't orgasmed. Am I doing something wrong? I used to think that I masturbated for a couple of minutes and that lengthening the session would help. This didn't though. Should I invest in a vibrator? I've looked at your First time Orgasm page and have tried it but it wasn't successful for me. I've asked my friends about it and most of them orgasm really easily. Where am I going wrong?

Can't Orgasm Even with a Vibrator

Hi Betty!

I am 20 years old and I just started masturbating about 4 months ago. I was always kind of nervous to look at myself or touch myself, but I tried it for the first time about 4 months ago. I usually give it like, 2 minutes with my hand...or 5-10 minutes with a vibrator and it does feel good, but I don't have the big orgasm that I'm waiting for. My libido is extremely low, I'm never in the mood, I just do it when I'm bored and I usually try to hurry up and get to the orgasm part but it never happens.

Partner Assisted Orgasms

23:29 minutes (26.92 MB)

As Betty said, "it's about my finger on my clit".  Partners only enhance your orgasm because no one knows your sex organ better than you.  But we do love their fingers and there's nothing like staying at the opening ;)  Did I mention that Betty shared her new fantasy game?

How Can I Have Better Orgasms?

Last week's video got a ton of comments - yes, we know that you can orgasm in 2-5 minutes BUT it's about riding the wave of pleasure. Fast orgasms are like fast food. There's not much nourishment.

How Can I Orgasm Faster?

A woman's sexual rhythm is much different than a man's sexual rhythm. We take longer. View penetration sex as the warm up to your orgasm.

Hate Being a Woman Because It's So Hard to Orgasm

Much of the time i hate being a female because it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to orgasm through sex. Why did God make it so difficult for women to orgasm and so easy for men to orgasm through sexual intercourse? I would want to engage in sex with him if it was more pleasurable for me. I think most women would agree.

When Did Sex Become a Medical Problem?

JoAnn Wypijewski's article is timely now that we're debating the public option for health care. Sexual health care for women is as simple as redefining heterosexuality by adding a little clitoral stimulation along with vaginal penetration. Many sex professionals including Leanore Tiefer, Becky Chalker and myself have railed against the medicalization of women's sexuality for some time now. To say nothing of all the anti-depressants that supposedly deal with depression but block women's abilbity to have orgasms which is depressing, we all agree that the pharmacuetical companies are out of control.  This is a must read and I've attached JoAnn's entire article below:
