Sex For One Hits Taiwan

It's official: Sex For One has been translated into Chinese.  Thank you, Dr. Fang-fu Ruan of Shu-Te University Graduate School of Human Sexuality for the wonderful pics including the chinese translation of Sex For One.

I read recently that the #1 search term in China is "sex" which comes as no surprise since there has been a complete prohibition of pornography, sex content, and sex information in the past.

You can really plot on a map all the countries who lack a dialogue on human sexuality because those are the countries where our site gets the most hits.  But things are changing.  Betty has a new column coming out in China's #1 publication Trends Magazine.  They're emphasizing sexuality as part of this new campaign of "wellness" which is huge in China now.  Going global, Dodson!

How To Use Betty's Vaginal Barbell

Betty Dodson, Ph.D., artist, author and sexologist, has proven though working with thousands of women that a strong pelvic floor muscle enhances orgasm with oneself and during partnersex. The same muscle also insures bladder control, maintains vaginal health, and contributes to a person's overall health. Betty's Barbell is both a practical vaginal exerciser and an excellent pleasure device that she has used for years in teaching women about orgasm. Made of stainless steel, the Barbell is sturdy enough to become a family heirloom that can be passed down from grandmother to granddaughter.

Happy 40th Birthday AASECT

I'll admit I resist going to conferences even when they're dealing with my favorite subject of SEX! As I looked over the catalogue from the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), I silently thought, "Maybe, but mostly, maybe not." Then I got a call from one of the conference organizers, Michelle, who proceeded to seduce me with the fact that there would be a huge turn out for AASECT's 40th anniversary. She offered me a three hour pre-conference workshop which meant some of my costs would be covered. The kicker was that the conference would be held in New Orleans, June 08.

Betty's Buddhist Celebration

In 2005, I attended a fund raising dinner for the National Council Against Censorship at the Rubin Museum with my colleague and dear friend Dr. Leonore Tiefer. At the time there was an exhibition of ancient Tibetan art on the third floor. As we looked at the beautiful ornate scrolls, one described special powers bestowed on a Priestess who turned seventy-seven when the number seven was in the year. Leonore quickly calculated that would be me in a couple of years and said we definitely had to do something special. She always takes notes and this is what she recorded: March 31, 2007 at 1:30 PM. 77 years, 7 months, 7 days, 7 hours. Betty's Buddhist Celebration.
