Will A Vibrator Pierce My Hymen if I'm a Virgin?

Dr. Betty,

I came across your site in the KISS Guide to Sex. I'm a 20 year old virgin (to everything) and I recently went in to my GYN for a pelvic exam. For me, it was rather painful and tight. I haven't had trouble putting tampons in if I'm sitting down or anything, but my question is this... If I buy a vibrator, will it pierce my hymen? I'd like to stretch my vaginal muscles, or do something to make penetrative sex less painful the first time, but I don't really know what else to do besides self-masturbation. ANY advice would be more than helpful.

Dear Informed Virgin,

Go the section on my site where I talk about Betty's Vaginal Barbell and get in touch with your pelvic floor muscle. You can begin by using your finger covered with clean massage oil with fingernails filed down smoothly. If you can't afford to buy a Barbell, make a dildo out of an organic carrot or zucchini carved to a small size and practice penetration after you have done at least 5 minutes of clitoral stimulation.

Do not worry about penetrating your cervix with a dildo because it won't happen. Continue clit stim while working your vaginal muscles. If the spirit moves you, have an orgasm too. Taking control of your sex organ will start you off on the best path for sexual pleasure in your future. Congratulations!

Betty

Betty, I am surprised that you dod not awnser this persoms question at all. To any other virgins out there: if you are already using tampons or habe had a pelvic exam where the dr looks inside (not needed if you have never had any sex at all) you have already started to streach your hymen. That is IF you had one to start with. Some women dont have one at all. Hymens DO NOT "pop" or "disappear" when you first have sex. They do get streached out and harder to see. I reccomend that any woman, especilly those that have a hymen, first use fingers to streach her hymen if she has one. If you have a parter who wants to help they should go slow, make sure there is plenty of lube (preferanly natural juices from you being really turned on), and use fingers only the first few times. Eventually a penis can be tried, but if it hurts you are going too fast. Sex should NEVER hurt, not even the first time. Streaching your hymen yourself (or havimg a partner do it) can be easier in a warm (soapless) bath.
