i am trying to find information on the development of the uncircumcised penis through puberty. My 11 yo son is complaining to me that he feels his foreskin is too tight when he experiences erections. I would like to know if this is a normal phase, and if it will loosen with time and masturbation, as the body often takes care of itself.

He has had an infection under the foreskin in the past, and at the time i found it very difficult to find a doctor to care for him who was not convinced circumcision was the answer. Naturally if there were medical reasons to circumcise then i would ensure he had this surgery done, but i don't want this to happen if its not in his best interests.

Naturally most docs will want to circumcise and I applaud you for holding off. As far as I know, gently pulling back on the foreskin will eventually loosen it.
