As a Sex Educator, author, and speaker since 2004, Marylou draws from her formal education and life experiences as a person of short stature. Standing at a statuesque 3’11” she developed a “High10 Your Life” approach to managing life’s magical, yet often unpredictable journey. She is the the author of Heighten Your Sensuality and Intimacy: Innovative Techniques for the LP body and founder of the site www.high10yourlife.com.
She holds a BA degree in Sociology ~ emphasis in Counseling & Interviewing. She has consulted as a Life Skills Coach and conducted numerous personal growth workshops on Sensuality and Intimacy, Inter-Personal Relationships, and Living with a Disability.
She is presently working towards finishing a Master's degree in Human Sexuality and is a member of AASECT - American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.
Marylou is a Lifetime member of Little People of America and was the former president of the Kniest SED Group (KSG), an organization benefiting persons like herself living with Kniest Syndrome and SED (all variant types), and their families. Her goal is to bring forth the range of issues regarding sensuality and intimacy for people with short stature and disabilities. She personally believes that everyone is disabled in one way or another "....it's all a matter of degree and whether it's internally or externally noticeable" she states.
Marylou's previous professional career includes being successfully retired from the Internal Revenue Service with over 23 years of tax auditing as a Revenue Agent. She also served as an advocate in the IRS - Equal Employment Opportunity Office (EEO) for the Los Angeles region which served over 3,000 IRS employees addressing and resolving disability issues in the workplace, and representing the IRS in community outreach programs.
She currently practices part time as a licensed Enrolled Agent handling individual and business tax returns, audits, and consultations in the private sector.
Marylou has an adult son and lives in the Los Angeles area. She enjoys a balanced lifestyle including painting with watercolors.
