Scarlet Road: A Sex Workers Journey

I watched a brilliant documentary on sex work last week that I have to share . It covered just how salient a service it is for those living with disability. Of course sex work is an equally important service for the able bodied but deeply lonely and for those who just want no strings attached highly skilled sex, but this documentary focusses on disability.

This film also defies the constant stereotype of prostitution as an act of desperation on behalf of the sex worker. Yes, there is a reason the stereotype exists, it does happen but it is only one part of a much larger story. Sex work can and is for many a considered, thoughtful longterm career choice that brings much needed pleasure to both client and provider alike. I am embedding the trailer in this blog but you can follow this link to watch the full movie plus an interview with the director.

I would love to make an adult movie of Rachel and one of her clients having sex. love lOvE LOVE her. *sigh*

Would be nice to see someone who fullfills the ladies needs. Can't see the film as it's geoblocked to help sales of the show to European TV companies.

The ladies needs are taken care of too...

... in the full show the woman who operates Touching Base, the not for profit organisation that matches the disabled community with the sex workers that provide for them, talks about having her first sexual experience with a male sex worker. She has cerebral palsy. So it is in the documentary.

Sugar & Spice with everything nice :))

Hi everyone,
This is absolutely one of the nicest acts of love and kindness someone can share with another human being. I have thought a lot about sex and disabilities over the past 2 years. I have neck and back problems which leave me in constant daily pain. My wife has MS, I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for people with heavy duty disabilities and how this simple act of kindness can help heal and bring a lifetime of joy to someone else. Thank you for sharing this and as always your website brings another smile!! :)) Eric
