This is fucking amazing. Officially, in the UK, misogyny ie mistreating, abusing, harrassing women is a hate crime.
Misogyny hate crime is classed under the new policy as "Incidents against women that are motivated by an attitude of a man towards a woman, and includes behaviour targeted towards a woman by men simply because they are a woman."
Examples of incidents include:
I love this picture taken by Amanda Bacon post-birth of herself in a diaper. Those diapers were the most annoying part of my recovery. When you become a mom, you have to find your humor.
Here's the caption that went with her pic:
This past weekend we had our last workshop of the season. We were overbooked, had some last minute cancellations, and filled the slots from our wait list. The most amazing women sit in our circles - somehow the "right" women find their way to the "right" workshop.
We had women from Australia, Canada, Hawaii, the Northeast and the West Coast....sex workers, probation officers, students and a former nun. Betty and I were struck by the gifts and the strength of these women, how fortunate we are to call them sisters. I feel like I'm ruined for ordinary friendships because of the deep connections we create through Bodysex. The women who move forward with certification cross over into family.
When the NY Times ran a story on Betty's sex parties, they had a photographer come by and take several photos for the piece.
I believe this was taken on her roof...it never ran...
Without a doubt you know more about my past than any other person alive. So allow me to correct a minor detail here.
As we all know, the NYTimes has become the newspaper of the 1% but even in the 70's it was stll very conservative.
The photo was taken by Grant Taylor at miy friends house in the country to escape the phone after the article about group sex came oot. Sheila is behind me to represent the many armed goddess. Thanks for a quick trip in our time machine. And thanks for being my biographer.
I think we can all agree that our binary two-gender system leaves little room for personal happiness. Strict gender roles are more than discrimination against the LGBT community. The absolute masculine/absolute feminine dichotomy enslaves women, undermines relationships, and fosters self-hatred in our children. No one is happy living in a culture where there's one ideal for all.
We've all seen his picture and the slew of outraged FB posts over Brock Turner's 14 month community service/slap-on-the-wrist sentence for rape. It's the classic scenario of the white male athlete (attending Stanford) raping the passed out girl at the frat party and the "system" not wanting to "ruin" his life with a rape conviction.
A few things stand out in my mind.
First, it's racist. If she'd been raped by a boy of color, the cops would have shot him on the scene, there never would have been a trial, and they all would walk away scot free.
I love Alicia Keys for posting this picture of herself with no makeup...I'm always wishing that celebrity women would allow themselves to be real to help girls develop positive body image AND here it is.
I'll admit that I looked into lasering away some sun freckles I have on my face. I don't have alot of them but people comment on this one brown dot on my forehead and it makes me self-conscious. Yes, I could laser it off twice a year for a few thousand dollars but why? I'd rather spend the money on Grayson's education or a family vacation.
This image makes me feel better. Thank you, Ms. Keys, for your honesty.
According to a 2011 study, menstrual cups are the shit. Not only are they cheaper than tampons (a $25 cup lasts you 10 years), but they keep your pc muscle tighter and your vagina more lubricated.
It makes sense since any sort of tampon or pad is going to have bleach and/or other chemicals that can dry you out - and I'm not even going to speculate of carcinogenic additives. Pushing out to insert and release your cup from your vagina as well as pulling in to get it in place is a monthly workout for your pc muscle (a happy pc muscle is an orgasmic pc muscle).
Natasha posed for this picture during her recent Bodysex retreat. She does these wonderful photo shoots in nature during her weekends.
While posing, she realized that she was bleeding. The women encouraged her saying that it was beautiful. I have to agree.
For me, this past weekend's Bodysex workshop marked a shift in my personal journey. Everything seemed to come together...ground...then open up again. And that's the genius of these groups. We grow as we facilitate. There is no end if we keep our hearts and minds open to the experience.
The last three Bodysex seasons have been a challenge. I had Grayson in the back room with a babysitter - then he graduated to home care with daddy but there was so much more to coordinate: breast pumping, cooking food for the weekend dinners, and rushing home to relieve my Husband. At a certain point, all babies want mommy and I was conscious of that fact. Attachment parenting and breast feeding on demand isn't for the faint hearted.
A female artist, Illmagore on Instagram, painted this portrait of Trump with a small phallus with the quote, "no matter what's in your pants, you can still be a big dick".
After posting the image on FB, she was assaulted while driving around LA. A white guy with a Trump bumper sticker came up to her car, punched her in the face, and yelled "Trump 2016".
Now that Ted Cruz is out of the race I think Trump is pretty much the Republican Presidential candidate. I can't wait for the debates. And I'm voting for Hillary.
We love Margaret Cho so when Rachel emailed us this link we were super proud. They even featured a snip from ouy weekly youtube video.
Betty is the "Joan of Arc of orgasm".
I absolutely love this image. It's rare that we see any pictures of placentas...here we see how the umbilical cord brings nourishment to the baby in utero.
It's so powerful. I posted this on FB and people thought it was me. No, I found this image on a photographers site and it's all in spanish. She shoots the entire birth and each is uniquely beautiful.
Since I became a mom, Betty and I don't get to spend as much time together. The workshops have become the best way for us to reconnect. Now that Grayson is 13 months he can stay home happily with Daddy and mommy can have breakfast with Aunt B, catch up, and assist her in the circle.
When Betty and I click, we click. This past workshop was our best. It felt like we were dancing across the floor anticipating each other's movements, effortlessly gliding through the steps. We ran our third certification workshop; 7 women from Spain, Austria, the West Coast, Boston and NYC will go on to run their own Bodysex groups.
No one watches porn on dvds anymore...no one is subscribing to Playboy or the Spice channel. Most of us get our porn from aggregator sites like YouPorn, Redtube and PornHub - not surprisingly these sites are owned by one company MindGeek.
