Christina (she'll be writing for the site) forwarded me the link to Feministe and there was an article where Betty was prominently mentioned as one of the first pro-sex feminists entitled: Feminist Porn: Sex, Consent, and Getting Off

Nude York City

A naked dining fad is proving popular in New York. About 50 diners - whose motto is "no hot soup" - meet regularly for meals where the dress code is literally non-existent.
Organiser John Ordover, who rents city restaurants for the monthly dinner parties, told the New York Post: "We're not out to shock or put on a public spectacle.

Diablo Cody's New Movie Jennifer's Body

I love Diablo Cody and have been anticipating the cover art for her new horror comedy Jennifer's Body. And Megan Fox (the new Angelina Jolie) is starring as the lead:

In the film, Megan Fox plays a cheerleader in a sleepy Minnesota town. Described as a Heathers-type dark comedy, it tells the story of a seemingly-perfect cheerleader whose life is thrown into disarray when she gets possessed by a demon, begins eating boys in her small Minnesota town, then faces off against her best friend and the Satan-worshipping band that made her evil.

Jordan's Queen Rania's Youtube Channel

Not sure if you caught Queen Rania on Oprah (I didn't but I saw it on cnn.com).  She has a youtube channel and is trying to open a dialogue about the arab world.  I lean towards Ayaan Hirsi Ali's take on Islam but Queen Rania does seem quite remarkable:

Sex Competition Leads to Arrest

This sounds kind of hot....I'll admit it. And the prostitution charge seems way off base: Nine British women were facing prostitution charges after being arrested at the weekend for taking part in an oral sex competition in the Greek holiday island of Zakynthos, police said on Monday.

Six British and six Greek men, including two bar owners, were also charged in the incident, which took place at Laganas beach in the south of the Ionian island, which lies off the west coast of mainland Greece, police said. The women, who came to the popular resort on holiday, had been paid to take part in the competition, which was video recorded and was to be posted on the Internet, police said.

The men were charged with encouraging obscene behavior.

While sitting at the sushi bar last night with Betty, I checked my blackberry to find the latest newsletter from truthout.org and read the following items on the list of new stories. If this isn't a full out assault on women's rights I don't know what is WTF!

women disappearing from the workforce; evidence from rapes often sits untested; Bush rushes to secure abstinence-only funding.

Social stigma drives some women to remove tattoos

It appears sexism is alive and well when it comes to tattoos.
Although just about as many women as men get tattoos nowadays, a  new
study shows that women seek removal of tattoos more than men because of
negative social fallout.

About 25% of people ages 18 to 30 have tattoos, and that number is
expected to rise to about 40% in the next few years, according to the
study, published today in the Archives of Dermatology. Previous studies
have shown that about 20% of people end up dissatisfied with their
tattoos, and about 6% seek tattoo removal using laser treatment.

Hillary Responds to Bush Admin's Attempt to Undermine Women's Rights

I was waiting for this...for Hillary Clinton to take off the gloves and go for one more round. What better way to go back to public life than with a public denouncement of the Bush Administration's lame attempt to define contraception as abortion:

"The Bush
Administration is up to its old tricks again, quietly putting ideology before
science and women's health. The U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services is poised to put in place new barriers to accessing common forms of
contraception like birth control pills, emergency contraception and IUDs by
labeling them "abortion."

Grandmother Arrested On Way To Hospital for Prostitution

A grandmother walking to the hospital because she was having an asthma attack was arrested by Brooklyn cops for alleged prostitution. Part of their proof was that she was carrying a condom...guess young women being afraid to carry condoms because everyone will think they're a slut is founded in fact.

Contrary to Officer Sean Spencer's claim in a sworn complaint, she had never before been arrested for prostitution - or anything else, according to her lawyer Richard Cardinale.

Women Hardest Hit By Food Crisis

As if genital excision, domestic violence, and the Bush Administration's prohibition against condom distribution through US-funded UN programs weren't enough, women are now the hardest hit victims of the food crisis.

Soaring prices for food and fuel have pushed more than 130 million poor
people across vast swaths of Africa, Asia and Latin America deeper into
poverty in the past year, according to the U.N. World Food Program (WFP). But while millions of men and children are also hungrier, women
are often the hungriest and skinniest. Aid workers say malnutrition
among women is emerging as a hidden consequence of the food crisis.

Bush Administration Tries to Redefine Contraception as Abortion

The New York Times reports that the Bush Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services is drafting a rule that would place new restrictions on domestic family planning programs.

While current law allows health care providers and professionals to refuse to provide abortions based on their religious beliefs, this provision would threaten the funding of organizations and health facilities if they do not hire people who would refuse to provide birth control and defines abortion so broadly that it would include many types of birth control, including oral contraception.

I love Helen Mirren. She always looks amazing on the red carpet. She's older, stylish, sexy, and sophisticated. And she rocks the bikini like no one's business.

Women, you can look amazing at 63 years old. She has curves and she's confident. You so know that she doesn't starve herself or botox like crazy. Older, natural women are amazing.
