Sexualizing the Mother Child Bond

Both of these images were posted online and got a slew of negative comments.  Apparently, breastfeeding your toddler as you prepare for your second birth and kissing her 4 year old son on the lips (thank you, Hillary Duff, for posting this picture) is offensive and sexually inappropriate.

The bond between mothers and their children is so strong and so intimate.  When I breastfeed Grayson, we giggle, recite our new words, trace each other's ears and belly buttons.  In other words, we share tenderness and touch.  And, for the record, I kiss my son on the lips.

Touch and affection are learned behaviors.  When we sexualize touch, we limit our children and their future relationships.  I want Grayon's first experiences with intimacy to be with me, someone who will love him for the rest of his life.  And I want him to expect touch to be positive - expect to be comforted and nourished.

These images are so powerful, so healing. Let's share more sex positive images.

Well, some people just giggle and do nothing. Others express their attitude in comments. I have found at least 6 articles on different bid4papers.com reviews that prove breastfeeding at the older age is really negative for the child's health and psyche.
Some mothers create channels on Youtube to show how they feed their children and are accused of incest.

Outrageous.
