Beautiful Labia

Submitted by Carlin Ross

I hesitated posting this photo from my new favorite tumblr blog Beautiful Labia (thank you camlawman for the link).  Then I said, "fuck it.  Labia and all their glory should be on the front page."

How can the human body be obscene?

Similar to the Large Labia

Similar to the Large Labia Project

This looks like a porn pussy.

This looks like a porn pussy. Very pink and very obviously photoshopped. You see it in the extreme smoothness of both vulva and the rest of the body. To me this image just feeds the current ideal and idea that a pussy should be hairless (or close to), ass should be hairless and skin pink and flawless. Not real, not good. I don't think posting this image serves any positive purpouse.

Agreed

Agreed, Elin A. It's a beautiful image in a way, but screams photoshop. Bears little resemblance to an honest photo of any woman.

Beautiful indeed!

Thank you for this post, Carlin. It's a lovely photograph, and a good sign that we may be getting past the shock and shame stuff we inherited.

Agreed, beautiful labia of pretty Gisele A, & NOT PHOTOSHOPPED!!

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 06:29

The image that Carlin posted, appears to be of the MetArt model Gisele A and cropped from a high res image in the "Ladybug" set photographed by Tony Murano, this is the medium res version of that image:-

.

.

Gisele looks very pretty in the "Allegro" set photographed by Flora for ErroticaArchive:-

.

Only ignorance could lead Elin A and Anonymous in NYC to describe the image as "photoshopped".  The "extreme smoothness of both vulva and the rest of the body", in the image that Carlin posted, occurred because the vulva was not precisely in focus, as can be seen from the fact that the pubic hairs are not pin sharp. If you look at the medium res image that I have posted, you can see that the whole image is slightly out of focus or is soft focus, possibly because it was used as the cover for the MetArt image set.  If you click on the last three images that I have posted, you can see the vulva and skin texture, and even the hair follicles in the last image, as they are high res images and are all in focus, thus proving that the image that Carlin posted was a genuine image of Gisele's vulva and not photoshopped.  Fortunately for Gisele, her skin does appear to be "flawless" as are many nude models.
.

Generally, a "porn pussy" is seen as having no labia minora, whereas the image that Carlin posted is hardly that, as the minora, clit and hood are clearly visible.
.

Elin A, most men shave their faces, so why should women not shave their vulva, women pamper every other part of their bodies!  Personally, I love a shaven vulva as pubic hair hides the real beauty of a vulva.  One "positive" of Carlin posting the image is that it has demonstrated to you that not all women's vulva's are like your wife's!  I note that you have edited that comment out of your post in the last day or so.
.

Anonymous in NYC, Gisele's vulva may be distinctive but not that unusual, and to say that it is has "little resemblance to an honest photo of any woman" is patently ignorant nonsense!!!      Vulvas are like faces, all different.  Being distinctive, I thought that I had seen an image of that vulva before and it took me some time to identify Gisele and locate the medium res image that I posted.
.

It amazes me that despite numerous websites showing images of models displaying their labia, that people still have very little understanding of the variety in the appearance of women's vulvas :(

.

Some samples of Gisele's picture sets can be seen here:-

.

My view of the image that Carlin posted is that it is so inviting that I just want to give Gisele's vulva a French kiss :)

Why all the hostility

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 07:22

Ignorant!? screaming photoshop!?

The photo Carlin posted does look photoshopped but that doesn't mean it is. Lots of things effect the look of a raw photo the most of which is lighting, which can vary the age perception of some faces 10 or even 20 years. And posture can take a hunched out of shape man and turn him into a ripped musclehead in seconds :) The still camera always lies. So if we're being lied to we are all largely ignorant.

The exclusive plugging of certain looks by the media at the expense of many others is cruel and horrible and causes anger and distress. But I think hating on the porn look or size zero look isn't the way forward as that is how some people naturally look who are skinny or have hidden inner labia or it's the way they like looking (obvious fake boobs).
We need to relieve women of the enormous pressure over how they look. The comparison to men shaving is quite telling. I've never seen women locked in hostile debate about why or how a man shaves, saying if he does he he looks like a little boy. I just see people stating preference, but nobody really cares that much to have a heated debate with me having to justify why I shave my face :) Lol. Lets just chill and give women some space and direct our anger at the media who caused much of this.

Well within the boundaries of a normal vulva.

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 09:54

I am hostile to all posts like those made by Eline A and Anonymous NYC because I am concerned that If a woman with a vulva similar to Gisele's, reads their posts she will be driven into the arms of a plastic surgeon to have labiaplasty to make her labia more "real" and "honest" :(   Whereas her labia are perfectly normal and well within the wide variety of normal vulvas.

I repeat that you only have to look at the pubic hair to see that the vulva was out of focus and hence the skin detail was not shown in the image that Carlin posted, and hence NOT PHOTOSHOPPED.

.

I feel that the Eline A and Anonymous NYC posts were completely unnecessary and only help to perpetuate the myth of "normal" labia portrayed in the media.

Labialover,Way to completely

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 10:45

Labialover,

Way to completely miss the point. Nobody said there's anything wrong with being shaved or having smooth skin, nobody said it wasn't pretty, not normal or anything of sorts. And it doesn't matter if they've used photoshop or make-up or a soft focus, it's still "beautifying" the image according to a very spcific, narrow ideal. (And Jake, I'm not hating on the porn look, but that it in my opinion is advocated through this picture.)

The problem is that when all we see are very smooth, very pink, shaved vulvas of white women (Oh yes, there is a racial element to this as well that largely isn't acknowleged even here at D&R), it makes women who's labia looks different from this insecure about their own vulva. This is a problem that has been debated quite a bit here at D&R.

This is why I was surprised and offended by Carlin's post. Not that the vulva in question isn't beautiful, but because when one particular vulva is choosen to get special positive attention, it is one that exactly matches the "beauty ideal" perpetuated by media and the porn industry.

If anything makes women go for labiaplastry, it's the fact that their big, brown, black, hairy pussies aren't concidered pretty. I don't think my post will have anyone running to the doctor any more than Carlin's will.

Again, I have nothing to say about anyone's choice to shave or even editing pictures of their genitals. If you want a porn pussy, that's fine. But when an advocate of diversity chooses to give special attention to a picture that is completely media and pornography mainstream, I do have a problem.

And so has my big brown flappy beaver.

Black is beautiful too

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 11:30

I take you point elin; but I though that you were male as you talked about your wife in the previous post and later removed the comment?  But "big, brown, black, hairy pussies" ARE PRETTY TOO and because of the colouring they are often more pretty than white vulvas, look at MetArt's Chandra A:-

I adore the contrast between the edges of her labia and the purplish vestibule, they draw the eye and my tongue inwards

You can see more of Chandra here:-

http://www.candypleasure.com/pornstar/chandra-a

Perhaps you will post a picture of your "big brown flappy beaver" and then you will see that I am right.  BTW I am surprised that you have a "problem" with your vulva as I thought that most black women were more comfortable with their bodies than white women?

Perhaps also I will start a thread showing the wide variety of vulvas, white, brown and black: Carlin and or Betty please let me know if you object to this idea?

Haha, I don't think I'll be

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 11:12

Haha, I don't think I'll be posting my own anytime soon, although it would do the world good to see some hemorrhoids and a lush happy-trail on a female. They're both extremely common but never seen...

By the way, I'm not black. I

Fri, 11/29/2013 - 15:17

By the way, I'm not black, so I can't say I speak for black women or any other race. Personally, I find it hard to believe black women are more comfortable in their bodies than white women. Especially since the ideal shown everywhere is white for both faces, bodies and cunts, although most white women don't live up to those ideals, either.

(I've never talked about a wife or removed a comment in this thread, so I don't know what you're talking about there...)

Sorry to have offended!

Gosh -- I'm very sorry that I appear to have caused such offense! I know very well that all women's labia are different. What I was responding to in the photo was the incredible smoothness of the body skin, the lack of any sort of tiny bumps, the evenness of the skin tone, the way there's a sort of blurred whiteness around the hair which looked (to me!) like it had been digitally smudged to remove any trace of the result of shaving. To me, this looks like an idealized image -- not an honest one -- because it is so perfect.

It's funny how males jump up

It's funny how males jump up to "prove" what a real vulva/vagina consists of. You know who is an expert on every vagina in the world? The woman who owns each and every single one. There is no standard for the vagina, so please stop acting as if there is.
Elin is right on point. The labia in question isn't a representation of anyone expect for
mainstream media. It has that pre-pubescent, fetishistic, virginal feel
that our society seems to enjoy. That is what this society seems to
like: the anti-age, anti-woman look. It feeds the machine that tells
woman that nary a hair should be where it isn't suppose to be and women
are all "pink" and fuzzy inside. It's rather saddening because as much
as we try to deny it, we allow this garbage. As for labialover, " I
thought that most black women were more comfortable with their bodies
than white women". I will assume that you are a white man which would
explain the ignorance of your comment. The post itself isn't offense, it's the lack of diversity that is hugely disappointing.

Lovely !

Each UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL in their own way ...
(Just like women's faces!)

A MAN

ps I can't claim any originality here - My partner (A woman!) just yesterday said women's labia were as varied as their face's, then I saw this post and thought OH YES she is on to something...

Vive la différence!

Well said Jake!

Well said Jake imo!

We all have our differing preferences too, such is life...

  • Viva differences in preferences!
  • Viva all body shapes and sizes (So long as the person is healthy - I'm thinking anorexia or serious obesity)
  • Viva differences in labia!

My partner, fwiw, does not like my whiskers, so I shave (and nick) my face most days coz she likes smooth kisses...
Now maybe I have some choices here... Of course I *do*
(Hey the bank manager does not like me with stubble either!)

+1

Another Photoshopped body part that doesn't occur in nature. Thanks.

labias/vulvas

Fri, 01/16/2015 - 12:18

Many people don`t really know how different are female genitals, the vulvas, the coplete package.
So you get also a new surprise by observation. So my wish and advice: discover the world of vulvas, you will have pleasure and you learn by watching.

Well I think they are beautiful!

Large labia

Hi,
just to say that my girlfriend has VERY large and wrinkled labia - so much so that when I first saw them I had second thoughts about going down on her!

I'm glad I persevered though, because apparantly I'm the first guy to really give them a good chew...........and boy does she like it.

So for my part, even though having a full set of flaps may not look graceful it can sure help you provide something to chow down on!

Hi LabiaLover and Carlin
(LabiaLover in reply to your comments) and (Carlin for starting this post)
I was (and still am at times) self conscious regarding the size, shape and coloration of my pussy. Specifically my labia minora, their length, color and texture. I see the popular playboy girls and porn stars with there nice smooth vulva, light skin outside, all pink inside, nothing hanging down or peeking out... My husband loves my pussy, and especially my long inner lips! He says those smooth pussies are boring LOL but I think he's just trying to be nice. Several years ago he started a blog with the purpose of us posting a few pics of me to gain comments from the public at large. The blog has become quite popular! Not pussy pics (okay maybe a peek). No face pics. Lots of boob pics, led to various poses in various states of dress. It surprised me that so many commented on my feet, and so many of my followers are into foot fetish. A few lucky followers have received some special pics of me, including some unpublished pics of my coochie. I have had some positive comments regarding my labia, but still not convinced that it's as "beautiful" as my husband and others say it is...
I know this is sort of silly. I also know there are some popular blogs out there that specialize in posting body pics to be "rated". Not sure if I want to do that. Somewhere between sending to those lucky few that received their thank you pics, and those very high traffic blogs such as large labia project or rate my pussy types, I thought this forum may be a happy medium.
Depending on response to this post I'll consider creating a member login here, and see if anyway to message privately as a follow up.
(I don't see a way to upload a photo, just link to images elsewhere on the internet)
Your kind and respectful comments are appreciated.

just to see

Hi Everyone... I posted a reply to this string yesterday. It has not posted, so I just signed up for the site to see if that made a difference. I'd hate to have to go back and retype my original. I really just want to see if this posts. - My reply was directed to LabiaLover as it pertained to thoughts about my labia. -  My original reply was signed "Anonymous for now"

Haemorrhoids?

Wed, 07/06/2016 - 03:56

I missed this post first time around and just found it thanks to the comment by AnonymousMe.

Looking through the conversation thread, I think it must be my age that's making me an outlier. My first reaction was not "What a beautiful vulva" which of course it is, whether photoshopped or not. It wasn't even "Wish it could have been more diverse" which of course has also been said.

My first reaction wasn't about the vulva at all but rather her anus. Surely this poor woman has haemorrhoids? Ouch.
