I've been up to my eyeballs in legal work putting together the Betty Dodson Foundation.  Today, Betty and I put the finishing touches on our mission statement.  You should see the smile on Betty's face:

Mission: to create a comprehensive sex information and education curriculum for ages kindergarten through high school into college and adulthood using the Betty Dodson method.  The curriculum will be available online/mobile/social so that anyone anywhere can learn about human sexuality to better understand themselves and others.

The Betty Dodson Method - Comprehensive Sex Ed Curriculum

Thu, 01/31/2013 - 12:54

How fabulous and obviously much needed in this world!

The only other well established, comprehensive and progressive sex ed effort I am aware of is the "Our Whole Lives" curriculum developed by the Unitarian Universalist Church. Have you hear of it? It covers six age groups, kindergarten through adult, and each module is taught by congregants who take the specialized training and volunteer their time. However,  it is not offered online or outside of UU churches (as far as I know), so it's reach is fairly limited. The idea of a comprehensive sex ed curriculum that could be accessed online by just about anyone in the world is truly revolutionary! Betty, you and Carlin are amazing.
