local government officials are doing things like dragging women 7-months pregnant with a second child to forced abortions, because their families could not pay the heavy fine required for having a second child.

another sick extreme of 'vagina control'

I do agree that straight men have been intimidated by women's sexuality but I also think that they are also imtimidated by how far women have come since they have entered the workforce and, in many instances, are the head of their families. 
I think that so much of this concern with women's reproductive parts comes from the fact that so many women are getting along. More women are graduating from collage and with high grade point averages. They have entered and are established in professional fields that were once male only. Most straight men (especially old, white men) are scared shitless and an unintended pregnancy is the best way to put a woman into poverty. It is always more expensive to feed, clothe and provide healthcare for two instead of one.
It is a scramble for a scarce resource = JOBS. For the most part, women work harder and more efficiently than men-- we don't think about sex every five seconds and our egos are a little smaller (this was actually told to me by a male co-worker as to why he hires middle-aged women).

Who has the authority to 'ban' anyone from expressing herself freely and appropriately? 'Vagina' isn't a curse word. What a sick world we live in, when nasty, narrow-minded religious fanatics make the laws!

Just a part of the USA that's not worth visiting anymore.

Good point, Jake. There are many counter-examples of sanity and compassion on the planet. Most of them are not to be found in the Michigan legislature, but they're out there nevertheless.
