Women have nearly as much erectile tissue as men.

Thanks Carlin for posting this
My speculation on why the book was no longer available from Simon & Schuster was the chapter the self-helpers had on how to easily do an abortion with a few plastic tubes and suction. That would take away the GOP's favorite political football that they love to kick around.
Betty I think perhaps the
Betty I think perhaps the book was discontinued too because the advice in the DIY abortion chapter may have resulted in injury and so preesented a legal liability to the publisher.
It's wonderful to see a clitoral erection happening and it looks so beautiful. We should all talk about female erections alot more and preface male erections with the word male to inferr the existence of female erections even when they'te not being mentioned.
RE Jake E's comment RE Simon & Shuster discontinued publishing
Dear Betty and Carlin:
Thanks for putting Suzann Gage's drawing of the erectile bodies of the clitoris. Your viewers may like to know that A New View of a Woman's Body is still available from the Feminist Press http://goo.gl/PYhH3 for $29.95 +SH.
I am general editor of ANV. Simon and Schuster stopped publishing the book about 30 years ago and returned all the rights to the authors, the Federation of Feminist Women's Health Center. In the opinion of our agent, Claire Smith, their reason for publishing the book was to add prestige to their booklist, and their reason for giving up their rights to publish, in my opinion, was that, in their view, the interest in feminist books was over and they were not making enough money to justify further investment. I was told that one of the top editors had a problem with our name which included the word "feminist", but other than that, I believe they were completely oblivious to the revolutionary implications of the book.
I do not believe that they ceased publishing because they were afraid of liability. First of all, we had plenty of disclaimers that took them off the hook if there were to be any problems, and Secondly and most importantly, there was no allegations of any harm having been caused by the procedure at that time, or even later, at least as far as we know. To this day, we are not aware of any prosecution of anyone for performing menstrual extraction.
Today, this book is considered a classic and we are told that it is used as a teaching tool in medical schools, Due to the efforts of Rebecca Chalker who has lectured extensively about the "redefinition of the clitoris" and written the book "The Clitoral Truth", the sex therapy community has completely accepted the redefinition.
