Marilyn Monroe: We are All Born Sexual Creatures

This is my favorite Marilyn Monroe quote:

"Fame has a special burden, which I might as well state here and now. I don’t mind being burdened with being glamorous and sexual. But what goes with it can be a burden. I feel that beauty and femininity are ageless and can’t be contrived, and glamour, although the manufacturers won’t like this, cannot be manufactured. Not real glamour; it’s based on femininity.

I think that sexuality is only attractive when it’s natural and spontaneous. This where a lot of them miss the boat. And then something I’d just like to spout off on. We are all born sexual creatures, thank God, but it’s a pity so many people despise and crush this natural gift. Art, real art, comes from it, everything."

She's so sensual and beautiful that sometimes we forget how intelligent she was and how much she'd experienced.

huh?
wouldn't we just assume that she is also intelligent and worldy? We don't just look at women for their beauty do we?

Ravi, I don't Carlin was saying she can't think of a woman as sensual and beautiful whilst also knwoing she is intelligent and worldy. I think the reference of "we forget" is because culture tries to only allow women one attribute to define them especially when it comes to sex and/or smarts. Then it pushed that attirubute over all others. Women can either be an overtly smart woman or an overtly sexy woman...try to be too much of both and people start to get uncomfortable.

This makes for interesting reading to counter  the-13-smartest-porn-stars-of-all-time

Yes, I know. I was just ribbing.
But This is very interesting topic to me in general because men also suffer the same fate but in a different way. I can clearly see the beauty of women around me, but I am more drawn to intellect and confidence, it seems to get me nowhere though. I think women are also conditioned to think of themselves as sexy first, smart second. It is rather strange when a woman would seem turned off because you insist on getting to know her brain before her bum.
As a man who is more brains than braun I am reminded of how women are also conditioned in much the same way. They seem to want good looks more than brains, intellect, wit and respect in almost every instance.
In this way i think men and women need to change the way they think about one another in a sexual reference. I think we need to stop looking so hard at the bofy and start focussing more on the person.
As far as the list of intelligent porn stars.... thankyou, i never once believed pornstars were dumb unless they proved it. Perhaps you could find a similar list for our politicians... i am betting it will be harder to find such a list.

Sexual consent needs a brain

It's amazing to see her thoughts as if she was writing a contemperary blog.

Carlin I think your comment just shows the predominant way a patriarch culture thinks of female sexuality as passive. Passivity requires no brains or any brain, you could be asleep, in fact thats a major fantasy along with virgins tied up with rope. But an engaged sexual partner who is a sexual being, where her desire for you is arousing is not only in real life 10 x more sexy than the passive love doll, and makes us, their sexual partner feel physically sexy, but it means someones brain very definitly figures with that more realistic view of female sexuality. I fantasize about both passive and engaged female sexualities but in real life there is only engaged female sexuality even though the hetro scenes etiquette forces women into passivity. (If a guy waits for a woman who crushes on him to ask him out, he's likely to have a very long wait indeed :) Where as in the Sapphic scene engaged sexuality is much more apreciated because if women didn't take the initiative there nothing would ever happen :)
