Amazing how I continue to learn something new thanks to “Ask Dr. Betty” on our D&R website. Many times a questioner will ask something I know nothing about. That’s when I head over to my Google god and begin searching— so easy! Not like having to pour over big reference books in some musty library.

Today, thanks to the Internet, most people know orgasm accompanied by squirting urine is “female ejaculation.” I know, I know, “It’s NOT pee!” you say. Sorry guys and gals, if it’s more than a teaspoon, it’s coming from her bladder which can only mean its dilute urine with a bit of prostatic fluid from the urethral sponge mixed in. While female ejaculation explains urinating during orgasm, expelling fecal matter with an orgasm is a whole different proposition. He keeps telling me it's no big deal but it is very embarrassing and of course causes an interruption during the heat of the moment. We tried a butt plug but I shot that right across the room! Two: “A few months ago, I developed spontaneous orgasms. The fact that #One was able to shoot a butt plug across the room indicates a very strong pelvic floor muscle. No age mentioned and no info on the type of stimulation being used. To balance out her strong PC muscle, she would benefit from doing “Squats” to stretch and relax her pelvic floor muscle. Many women believe working the pelvic floor muscles will automatically lead to orgasms from intercourse. While this might happen for a few, we also need to know how to release the PC muscle to maintain a balanced pelvic floor. To release tension is where “Squatting” comes in. Just imagine washing clothes on a river bank. This position elongates the muscle allowing them more elasticity. Many women are over zealous with Kegel exercises. They forget all muscle groups need both tightening as well as releasing. When I say “squeeze” it’s followed by “release.” To check your muscle’s strength, simply insert your finger to feel the grip. But how do we check to see if that same muscle can relax? Chronically tight PC muscles will cause painful vaginal penetration and working with a pelvic floor practioner is very worthwhile.

To locate this important group of muscles, simply stop the flow of urine. That’s it! Lift up and then release. Men have the same set of muscles that will affect the quality of their erections as well as the intensity of their orgasms. Awareness and conscious use of this muscle during all sexual activity will not only add pleasure to our sexlives but it will also prevent urinary incontinence that plagues too many senior citizens. Leaking urine is more common than people realize.

The other element to consider is that these women are all relating to men who are doing the stimulation that’s centered in the vagina. Our number four woman even askes, “Could it be the way he's making me cum? He just shakes his fingers side to side inside me and it almost instantly makes me climax. Woman #Two claims she’s “having orgasms every few seconds for HOURS” but those are quick reflexes, not orgasms. Remember, none of these women are sophisticated sexually nor have they had any past experiences with orgasms. Please note: The clitoris was never mentioned by any of them.

Woman #Three had just started “squirting at 50” which possibly indicates a weak PC muscle. Practicing Kegel exercises would help to strengthen her muscle. She admits to a lifetime of difficulty with orgasms which indicates she’s confusing “squirting” as having an orgasm. While squirting might accompany an orgasm it is not the same experience as actually having an orgasm according to women with this response. I have nothing against female ejaculation if it’s enjoyed. What I object to is the mistaken belief that those wet orgasmic expulsions are superior. Too often it’s entertainment for men. Porn loves them! We all know guys pull out to show their ejaculation as proof of his orgasm. Now they can add squirting to represent female orgasm. Unfortunately, neither a gal squirting nor a guy ejaculating is necessarily the same thing as having orgasm. We have a lot to learn when it comes to authentic pleasure with both male and female orgasms.

The erectile tissue surrounding the urinary tract has many tiny prostate-like glands inside and was misnamed a “G Spot” when it’s an area, or better yet, a sensation. Since the male sex organ develops from the female, we must have everything men need. The prostate gland is very important because it creates alkaline semen so millions of spermatozoa can swim through our acidic vaginal canals in the hope that one penetrates a fallopian tube for impregnation. Although Earth is seriously over populated, the continuation of our species remains a strong impulse that partially explains “mankind’s” obsession with ejaculating inside vaginas as well as “womankind’s” obsession with being penetrated. It’s hard wired and no wonder why both sexes would expect the end pleasure of orgasm to be mutual, but alas, it’s not true. Like everything else of value, sex is an art form that must be learned and then practiced. The basics begin with a practice of masturbation.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would recommend all of these women to begin exploring their own sexual responses with masturbation. They need to get in touch with clitoral stimulation which remains our primary sex organ for pleasure. Yes, I know, some women come from fucking only, but generally speaking, vaginal penetration is more often a secondary form of stimulation for women. However, we are routinely subjected to the male model of sexual response— a penis thrusting inside a vagina. This not only serves as the highest pleasure for men but it’s the procreative model that’s hard wired in both women and men to continue our species. It’s well past time for humanity to separate procreation from recreation sex, especially for the sake of women’s orgasms. Repeated experiences with mutually orgasmic pleasurable sex are the best antidote to violence. Sex is after all, the life force and that includes orgasms for both you and me.

First I considered each woman’s relationship to her orgasms. All of them are victims of the absence of enjoying independent masturbation orgasms. Each well meaning male partner is devoted to “giving her an orgasm” which activates every woman’s “desire to please her partner.” A woman’s sex organ for both sexes is mistakenly the vagina. To get results we most often think harder and faster will work. And let’s not forget the many centuries of women as second class citizens. Also, need I remind us that feminism is still fighting the same battles for the past 40 years, the choice to end unwanted pregnancies. We never passed and the Equal Rights Amendment and women still don’t get equal pay for equal work! And sex education? Everyone must deal with the excessive male bias that makes up online porn that’s not produced to educate. Porn is meant to entertain men and that means catering to male fantasy.

I love my dirty fantasies but I realize what turns me on is unique to me. It’s unfortunate that porn has total freedom when other online venues like FB or YouTube censors D&R if we use say “masturbation.” So with online porn aimed at men’s fantasy and lets not forget good old Sigmund Freud, it’s easy to see why both women and men would expect an orgasm from fucking. As for pelvic floor muscles, to enhance sexual sensations we lift or pull up. To escape or ease up on a sensation that’s too strong, we bear down, or push out. In the process of escaping vaginal pounding or rough handling of our genitals, pushing out or bearing down with the pelvic floor is a form of self defense. It’s easy to see the release of urine would be automatic. Also given that bearing down is part of many bowel movements, poop might appear. One of the important aspects of building more pleasure in our orgasms would be to understand this important group of muscles that acts like a sling to support the important organs in our pelvic bowel.

I believe one simple exercise for men to practice before penetrating a woman’s vagina or anus is to try it on their own body first. And guys, please stop using porn as a guide for how to handle a woman unless you are willing to pay for her performance. And finally, women must learn to speak up and communicate what feels good, indifferent or painful. As long as we continue to fake pleasure, we keep our men uninformed.

It’s a disservice to humanities capacity to enjoy pleasurable sex in its many varied forms beginning with the humble act of masturbation—an activity that is essential to our well being. Reverse Kegels / Pelvic Floor Drops

Your ability to consciously relax your pelvic floor muscles is a critical part of your recovery program.  You must learn to relax these muscles before they can become functional again and pain-free.  Relaxing your pelvic floor, or reverse kegels is also called downtraining the muscles. The feeling of dropping your pelvic floor is similar to the moment of relief when you have reached the bathroom; when you urinate or have a bowel movement, you first drop your pelvic floor, and let the pelvic floor muscles (PFM) go.  Pay attention to this, and see if you can feel that happening. The key to dropping your pelvic floor is visualization, and Deep Breathing.  The best way to consciously release tension from the PFM’s is to try to release the muscles while you inhale.  When you inhale properly with diaphragmatic breathing, your diaphragm actually lowers to make room for the breath, so it is natural to also lower and relax the pelvic floor muscles at the same time.  When you exhale, your diaphragm rises to push the air out, and you then naturally raise or contract your PFM’s on the breath out. If you can get this Pelvic Floor Rhythm, reverse kegels will be much easier to do.
In order to do a reverse kegel, start by gently contracting your pelvic floor to feel what tightening the muscles feels like.  Now relax, and let that tension go.  Feel the difference between tension and relaxation.  Try to go one step further now, and visualize that the muscles between the pubic bone and tailbone lengthen by gently moving your pubic bone towards the ceiling (if you are lying on your back), and gently move your tailbone towards the surface you are lying on.  Imagine that the pelvic floor muscles are getting longer as this happens creating more space in your pelvic floor.  Do this at the same time that you take a deep breath in.  Don't tilt your pelvis as you do this.  Keep your spine still and let the movement occur in your pelvic floor.  Be patient.  This takes some time to feel the letting go or lengthening of these muscles.  This can be practiced in sitting and standing as well.
It is helpful to take a mirror to look at your contraction and relaxation.  When you perform a pelvic floor contraction (Kegel) a woman’s clitoris should move slightly downward, her anus should wink, and the perineal body (area between the vagina and anus) should move up and in.  For men, the same should happen, except the penis and testicles should lift slightly.  On the reverse Kegel, you should see the anus release and your perineal body move downwards towards the mirror.  It should also feel like you are creating more space between the pubic bone and tailbone.  Don’t make it happen, visualize and let it happen!
Eventually, once you have mastered the art of relaxing your pelvic floor muscles, you will need to check in with your pelvic floor throughout the day, and let go of any tension that you discover.
