On March 31, 2007 I honored my Beloved by having his initials, in the shape of a heart, tattooed permanently on my left inner labia. At the time, we were very involved in BDSM and exploring the D/s relationship dynamics.

What makes my story even more unique, perhaps, is that I am a 50-year-old woman, who just happens to have multiple personalities.

The personality that was so strongly drawn to the experience of being a submissive in a contractual D/s relationship is known as Precious.

It was while Precious occupied the body that the tattoo was done. Although it’s important to note that the other 17 personalities that occupy this body at any given time were all consulted and gave their permission, as nothing can be done to the body on a permanent basis without every one’s approval and consent.

It was not as heroic an experience as we had all thought it might be, as a matter of fact, Precious didn’t even have to go in to “sub space” to have the tattoo done. Though she was prepared to do so, and donned both blindfold and mouth bit just in case the “pain” was too intense.

As it turns out, there was relatively no pain involved, almost no bleeding and the art work healed within hours and never even scabbed over nor was there any discomfort at any time during or after the tattooing.

It looks as if we were born with it, we like to think it’s because it was meant to be!

As you might imagine, we don’t get the opportunity to show it off as much as we’d like, so we take every opportunity to bare all and share the beauty, the novelty, the uniqueness and above all, the extreme pleasure we get from knowing that our Beloved One is reminded, every time he goes down on us, that we belong to him, (not to mention the statement it makes when we partake in more polyamorous pleasures and others get to see how devoted and dedicated we are to our primary partner).

This is the only tattoo on the body and it will forever be that way.
